Saturday 14th. is not Friday 13th., but you would not have guessed this.
We waited for the airport shuttle bus to take us to the airport, (rather obvious that I suppose), but discovered that it only sat 19 people. There were already four people sat on it, and we are in a group of 26. My G.C.E. Grade Two Mathematics helped me realise that we had a problem. Anyway, another bus was due 45 mins later, so I took 15 of us first. A couple of minutes later, we stopped at another hotel, and the driver told me that four of us had to get off because there were four people at this hotel who had booked seats. You can imagine my response? Needless to say, we remained seated, and continued. Emma brought the rest of the group in the next bus.
Am now sat on the flight from Brussels to Nairobi, and hopefully things will get better.

Hello!!! Well today was one of the most boring but yet tiring days ever!!! On a plane for 9 hours!! Wasn’t fun! I felt very homesick today as I was sat for so long with nothing to occupy my mind, but as soon as we landed in Nairobi I was so happy as I couldn’t believe we were finally here! At last no more travelling and we can get on with the exciting parts! When we landed it was dark though so I still didn’t really feel like I was in Africa. I felt really nervous and homesick when we got off the plane in a strange country and all, I had a feeling of wanting to come home…but I know tomorrow will be better getting to actually see Africa!
Love you and miss you all so much!

Hello again, today has got to have been one of the worst days ever! The flight was too long for me, considering I really don’t like flying, I really didn’t enjoy being up in the air for that long. My ears were perfectly fine this time though which I was really glad about.
The finally we landed in Nairobi, that was when it finally hit me that we are in Africa! Finally no more travelling, except from going to the hotel but that was only about 20 minutes in the little van thing we had. It was weird being on the plane, I was getting frustrated and bored after a while and was getting a little home sick, but I just decided to sleep to pass the time by, must have slept about 4 hours all together out of 9, so it made it easier.
The thing I’m thinking about now is tomorrow, we actually get to see and explore Africa, little scary but really exciting at the same time!
Hope your not missing me too much yetJ.
Love you all!
Laura

Hello! We arrived in Africa and it was colder than I thought it would be. The place we stayed put us up in a dormitory which was very nice of them! The flight was extremely long haul but I don’t mind flying. First impressions of Africa are that it’s very much like England – the police dress the same, the signposts are similar and they drive on the same side of the road. There are also a lot of signs in English rather than Swahili.

Hello everyone back in jolly old England, Ha ha! Finally arrived in Africa after the huge flight! 9 hours altogether! It was ok at first as I was sat next to Mooney (Sarah .D) and we were watching films and talking but a person can only talk so much!! Film was The Astronaut Farmer but it was actually quiet good which surprised me!! What really surprised me was the fact that you could see the ground even when we were right up at the top, but all you could see was some sand, the Sahara Desert or something!!
I was really really nervous when we landed in Kenya as we would finally find out if any of our bags had been lost, thankfully none had!!! We stayed at a campsite just outside Nairobi which was really nice. Getting there was the scary part, we all got in some mini bus/ van thing and drove in the dark but we got stopped by some blokes with guns (army or police?) and the was these spike things in the road so we all had to slow down and pass each other.
Anyway . . that’s all for today!! Love you all and see you when I get back
