Up at 5.00 because we have a nine hour drive to the Maasai Mara. Stopped of at Kisii for shopping, and Grace took five of us into the market – what a sobering experience that was – see the images. The poverty was shocking, and at times the atmosphere was quite intimidating – you can never get used to being the only white people in town, and the stares that you get.
By the time we reached the Maasai Mara it was dark, so we actually bribed the gate guard and he let us camp just inside the park boundary – watchinh zebras walking past your tent, and listening to hyenas throughout the night was quite an experience.
